Organizer and Leadership Guidelines

Respect the Original Intent: Don’t Tamper with Groups or Events

  • Converting: It is strictly prohibited to assume the role of organizer with the intent to alter the focus, close, or promote content that deviates from the original purpose of the group. Any changes to the group’s mission must be transparent, agreed upon by the membership, and effectively communicated.
  • Tampering: Unauthorized modifications to group content or settings, disruptive use of platform features, or any actions undermining the community’s established purpose are violations of our policies. Permission from the main organizer is required for any alterations to group content or settings.
  • Respecting Privacy: Organizers must refrain from requesting sensitive or private personal information from members. Meetup reserves the right to remove any questions deemed intrusive to members’ privacy.
  • Inflating RSVPs and Group Joins: Misleading practices such as artificially inflating group memberships or event RSVPs are prohibited. RSVPs must accurately reflect attendance expectations, and the creation of fake accounts for this purpose is strictly forbidden.
Message Respectfully: Don’t Spam Members

  • Unsolicited, irrelevant, promotional, or repetitive messages to members constitute spam and may result in organizer account suspension.
  • Examples of inappropriate spam include sending messages unrelated to a group, promoting unrelated groups, or abusing announcement features.
Use Respectful Language

  • Profanity, offensive language, or content intended to offend is prohibited in group and event titles, descriptions, or any publicly viewable platform area.
Be Clear & Professional: Editorial Requirements

  • Group and event titles should be clear, relevant, and professional. Excessive or gimmicky use of punctuation, symbols, capitalization, spacing, URLs, or repetition will be edited.
Intellectual Property

  • Posting content that violates intellectual property rights is prohibited. Meetup will remove or disable access to infringing material upon notification.
Reporting IP, Trademark, or Copyright Infringement

  • Members are encouraged to report any intellectual property violations promptly.
Organizer Access to a Silvers Hub Group

  • Organizers are responsible for maintaining group subscriptions. Failure to renew may result in another member assuming the organizer role. Meetup generally does not reinstate former organizers unless affiliated with a registered third-party entity.
By adhering to these standards, organizers contribute to a positive and respectful environment within Silvers Hub, ensuring a fulfilling experience for all members.
